We were immediately impressed with our consultant Robin’s knowledge and experience. She helped us in selecting materials and design for both our projects. Once construction started our project manager Joe was an absolute gem in keeping the trades on track and keeping us in the loop on progress. Invariably questions arise during the project, Robin and Joe were always on top of needs and timely with their responses. At the end of the day, we were super pleased with our entire experience and very happy with the outcome. Ferris replaced my 21 year old roof and I was amazed that the project was completed within 2 days . My property was protected while they were working and cleaned up immediately after it was finished. Well it sure wasn’t a planned expense, but after many hours on line comparing Ferris (a Platinum Owens Corning installer) to Xxxxx ( a top GAF installer) we decider on Ferris. Tim spent as long as we needed in home explaining the pricing, what OC products would be used and how they would be applied. Work was started the following week, when scheduled, by Jordan and his crew of 7-8. The entire roofing project was completed in just one day! Cleanup was great, everything was put back as it was. We met with Gayle at the Rehoboth location when we were planning a master bathroom renovation. Gayle was great at listening to our ideas and helping us make our decisions on materials. Once the work is scheduled to start Cory provides a list of each day showing who will be working and at what time. Joe, our project manager was fantastic. He was always available. On site to check the work and easily reachable by phone if necessary. Carpenters, tilers, plumbers, electricians and painters were all professional and did excellent work. Our salesperson Meredith was fun to work with, and was very knowledgeable and effective in helping us select cabinets, fixtures, flooring, paint, trim and accessories for a master bathroom renovation in Newark. Ferris' cost estimate came in lower than the other local company we engaged, and we liked Ferris's cabinet selection better than the competitors. We contracted in early September 2023, renovation began in mid-February 2024, and the finishing touches were completed in early March 2024. Ferris lined the path from the front door to the master bath with a temporary sticky mat on day one. The team cleaned up at the end of each day, which helped us keep our open floor plan home tidy during the project. The Ferris team were all very professional, neat and courteous, including the PM Joe, as were all but one of the subcontractors (who is now retired). Missing insulation in the exterior wall behind the original tub (we could feel this in cold weather) was repaired, and an insulated board was added. Our wish-list item to add overhead heat to the bathroom was not priced in to the original contract. Once on-site, the electrical subcontractor chased new circuits to the bathroom space with a reasonable cost increase, allowing us to add heat to the north-facing space. The overhead fixture was ducted properly to the outside. We have now lived with the bathroom for four seasons, and are very happy with the outcome. The bathroom feels light and open even in winter, taking full advantage of the window and the downlight from the overhead skylight tube that was already present. The space is no longer drafty, and the overhead heat gets the room comfortable in cold weather. It is relatively easy to clean the new fixtures. Trim work is high quality. We are pleased with the extra storage cabinets we were able to add. We highly recommend Meredith, Joe, and all the Ferris Home Improvement staff we met. After speaking with several prospective firms, we ended up choosing Ferris, largely because of Sunny Donovan and her patient customer service, product and design insight, and overall project management. Throughout the process, we felt she heard us, and we very much appreciated her knowledgeable and creative recommendations. Joe Forgione was great as an onsite project manager, attending to details, keeping the work moving forward without delay, and keeping us apprised and connected in ways that were helpful for us. Ferris paid attention to our particular concerns so we could see them being addressed/resolved in real time—very reassuring. The work itself, complex to execute, is quality and looks great. We are already getting “oohs” and “aahs” from our friends.
